Fantasyland Living Rock Theater
As a part of the Frozen expansion to Magic Kingdom's Fantasyland, you can visit Fantasyland Living Rock Theater. This addition is themed to "The Valley of the Living Rock", a favorite scene from the Frozen film. This area is where the trolls live, and preform their number "Fixer Upper".
The theater is indoors in a large building, has a dark atmosphere to it, and is themed to mimic this scene in the movie. It has circular seating, like in the Festival of the Lion King show, and can fit 1,100 people per show.
This theater however is not necessarily designed for just Frozen. This theater is for all of Fantasyland, and will serve as the venue for hosting different special event shows at the park throughout the year, as well as hard ticket events. However, it does have one show that makes its home here.
This show is "Frozen: The Musical Coronation". It will open with the expansion to Fantasyland. While it doesn't quite retell the story of the film, it tells its own story through the famed songs, and even lets guests sing along!
There is one thing that is different about the theater though when this show is performed. A giant fountain is set up in the center of the stage. This fountain has incredible motion, almost of that of an animatronic. Because water and ice is such a key element to not only Frozen, but also incredible nighttime spectaculars, this fountain is used along with lights and live actors for each scenes.
There are four scenes; For the First Time in Forever, Let it Go, Do You Want to Build a Snowman, and the finale, Fixer Upper.
The first scene, For the First Time in Forever, has the theater go dark on opening. Soon, the music will start playing, and dim, brown lights will start fading in, all aiming at the fountain. It has mist projection which showcases the Castle, where the song takes place. Anna and Elsa come out to sing their portions of the song, but never together. Props are not used, but rather it is the actress's performance, the lights, and the actions of the fountain that correspond with the music that make the show.

The second scene, "Let it Go", will slowly transition in. Anna will leave the stage, while Elsa starts singing the famous song. Light blue spotlights will move around the theater, acting as the blue world of snow she is now in. Once the chorus starts up however, the fountain suddenly comes on with exciting swirls of water, sudden sprays up, and mist that projects snow and the ice castle. The finale of this song is an effect where the fountain appears to be bothered by the cold anyway, as it is frozen mid-motion for a few seconds! In reality, this is just an optical illusion of the water staying sprayed up to the same exact height while an icy projection is cast upon it.
The third scene is Do You Want to Build a Snowman. This is a more calm scene, where a younger Anna comes to the stage and begins the song. What guests don't see, however, while the theater is dark in transition a younger Elsa comes out and is situated in the middle of the fountain. As the song starts, a "shield" of water surrounds her, not getting her wet but just hiding her. While Anna sings, Elsa waits in here. Once it is her time in the song though, the fountain shield appears to "crack" and be broken down so we can see Elsa as she does her lines. This is just so we can see her though, Elsa and Anna never are making direct eye contact with or talking to each other. During the scenes where Elsa's powers are getting stronger, the spotlights will continue to get a dark blue and project around heavier.
The final scene is Fixer Upper. This is the final because it simply takes place in the same location as the film, but also for its celebratory and energetic pulse. This scene makes high use of all effects. Anna and Cristoph actors are used, but they aren't the only ones. As the transition between music takes place, many actors start walking down the steps through the seating area to make it into the stage. They aren't like normal actors though, but more make use of puppets and decorative costumes like in Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Musical. With an exciting dance routine, an energetic dancing fountain, and celebratory spotlights, this will end the show with a smile on your face to continue on throughout the rest of your visit to the Magic Kingdom!
